THE STORY OF THE RED MOOSE

When I was growing up in New York, Sundays were for family, no question. Our family was so tight knit, that I was named after the patriarch of our family, Pop Eddie – Edward Joseph Wrenn the 1st, and my dad. Papa Schrage also lived in the area so it was a given that our big family would get together at my grandfather’s place out on 300 acres outside Beaver’s Dam, New York. Mom had ten brothers and sisters so that meant a lot of cousins and one place for us all to come together. Did we ever.

It was easy to get lost on your way there and I could never find our property line in the dark except for one thing: a red moose on a barn that meant I was exactly one mile from Papa’s place. To me, that moose meant family and that memories were about to be made. We ate, drank, laughed, trapped, fished, hunted, and celebrated on that land. One mile past the moose.

Fast forward to 2020, and I created  a special place for families to gather, one mile past the former Eddie’s on 2nd street to the east. When you see the big red moose on the black building at 2nd and Coltrane, you’ll know to turn in. You’ll know that you are about to enter a place meant for good food, great drinks, lots of laughter and fun times. Our customers are like family to us. And with our new big event center at the same location, we have plenty of room for your big families and all of your friends for parties, receptions, and life’s most cherished moments.

Thank you for inspiring me to create a special place for you to return to as often as you like. My hope is you’ll consider it your home away from home. We can’t wait to serve you.
